We (Sayonsom and Robert) met in graduate school at Washington State University, when they began this curious side-project of predicting power outages.
However, the reason we created Sync Energy AI is very personal - ranging from Rob’s resilient journey from African refugee camps as a child to Stanford University and Sayonsom’s experiences of enduring devastating hurricanes by the coast of Bay of Bengal to earning a Ph.D. in power system resilience.
Why we are building Sync?
40 million Americans have to endure power-outage related hardships every year. $150 billion dollars are lost every year in the US alone, to unplanned power outages.
By simplifying access to AI, we can not only prevent many of these outages, but also jump to recovery actions faster.
